A year ago, we worked with Oriflame, a Sweden based FMCG brand and the largest European beauty company. The shoots were for their sub-brands - Giordani Gold & Novage Ecollagen.
We were commissioned to shoot for their core make-up product labelled 'Giodarni Gold' which is a luxurious range inspired by the refined elegance and sophistication of the Italian lifestyle. Meant for the confident and the sophisticated, Giordani Gold unites the highest quality with warm elegance for an exclusive indulgence and we supported the fact of Sonali Bendre being the face for it.
Sonali has not only graced the covers of Vogue, Verve and Good Housekeeping, but recently catwalked for the likes of Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla and is considered one of the most beautiful actresses of her time and a Top Celebrity of the 90s.
The concept and idea behind this project's visual style was to go European. Our designer Akanksha Gajria handpicked the right dark and neutral shades to fit the theme. Since we had to showcase Oriflame's Giodarni Gold beauty products such as lipsticks, sheer powder, bronzing pearls and a wide range of cosmetics, Divya Chablani, the hair & make-up artist, did a splendid job in keeping Sonali's make-up young and refreshing.
For our photography and production team, shooting in Mumbai and especially outdoors, required a lot of pre-planning to be done. In order to bring out an European feel through the photographs, we chose to shoot at Mumbai's iconic Ballard Estate. It was quite easy to capture moments of Sonali Bendre because of her sheer enthusiasm and involvement with the brand. Capturing her in perfect daylight along with strategically placed flash lights brought out the warmth, color and radiance to her face, cheeks and décolleté thus enhancing her complexion and adding a beautiful glow as the brand promises.
From her expressions to detailing of garments, the shoot was all about re-creating a refreshing aura of a modern, confident & suave woman. The credit goes to the entire team, not to forget our retoucher - Nadia Selander from Denmark for making the visuals look its best.
